Work with us

Treasurer Vacancy

Deadline 7th June 2024

Live Unlimited is seeking a new Treasurer to join our board of Trustees, playing a vital role in helping Barnet’s looked-after children and care leavers to thrive.

The ideal candidate will have an accountancy or financial background and some knowledge of the charity sector would be ideal but not necessary.

Live Unlimited was set up in February 2018 to provide a range of life-changing opportunities to Barnet’s care-experienced children and care leavers*. Our vision is that all care-experienced children and young people are able to achieve their potential and lead happy, fulfilled lives.

Over the past six years, more than 1,400 young people have been positively impacted by our opportunities. You can read our latest impact report here.

The overall role of Treasurer is to maintain an overview of Live Unlimited’s [LU] financial affairs.  The Treasurer ensures LU’s financial viability and prepares and presents the charity’s annual accounts as well as keeping the trustee board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities. You can read the Job Description here.

The board meets approx. four times per year and the time commitment is on average at least one day a month. The majority of meetings are virtual and in the evening. It is an unpaid role.

Our current Treasurer Caroline says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed volunteering as the Treasurer for Live Unlimited. It is a great charity which has grown from strength to strength since it was set up. The other trustees are dedicated and inspiring people to work with, not to mention the small but perfectly formed team who work directly for the charity, as well as the fantastic volunteer bookkeeper. Together it is a great team to be a part of. I have loved that it has given me the chance to work to support Barnet’s children in care and care leavers and to look outward rather than solely thinking about my own family. It has also given me the chance to use my accountancy skills again, something I don’t have much opportunity to do in my day job.  I would wholeheartedly recommend applying for this role and am happy to have a chat about it if you are interested.”

If you are interested in applying for the role please email a copy of your CV with a short note explaining why you are interested in the role to hello@liveunlimited.org.uk by 7th June. If you have any questions please contact our Operations Director sue.cocker@liveunlimited.org.uk, or our current Treasurer caroline.glitre@liveunlimited.org.uk

*A care experienced person a young person who is currently, or has previously been in local authority care. A care leaver is a young person aged 18 and above who has left care, but receives local authority support until the age of 25.
